A traditional Australian gambling game. Two coins rest on a flat piece of wood before they are thrown into the air (Two-up), and a group of players place bets on which side they land; heads or tails.

Thought to have originated from the game ‘Pitch-and-Toss’ during early European settlement, Two-Up grew in popularity across the Australian goldfields of the 19th century and again with Australian soldiers in World Wars One and Two.

The game still flourishes in the tradition of the past and has become indelibly linked to the history of Australia.
